Music

I direct the orchestra and choir at Reno Video Game Symphony, one of the longest-running community performing arts organizations dedicated to arranging and playing video game music (VGM). I take care of all of the transcription, arrangement, and music engraving for the RVGS orchestra and choir. When not conducting, I sing in the tenor section and play assorted middle-low brass and woodwinds.

By day, I am Manager of Orchestra Operations and Social Impact at the Reno Chamber Orchestra. My work involves running RCO's six seasonal concerts, the annual Nevada Chamber Music Festival, and the Vahe Khochayan Young Artist Concerto Competition, acting as music librarian, stage manager, and logistics management all in one.

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I founded Virtual Video Game Orchestra, where I served as CEO, Executive Director, and numerous other roles. While originally intended to be something temporary while the world was shut down, VVGO rapidly became a global community with more than 1000 members that began to consistently produce award-winning collaborative music videos.

Other large VGM ensembles I've played with include the Game Music Ensemble at UCLA, The Intermission Orchestra at Berkeley, the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Maryland Gamer Symphony Orchestra. I participate in Dwelling of Duels as an arranger and recording artist with the DoD Brass Collective and remote barbershop/a cappella group Gamer Tag.

Outside video game music, I have sung tenor and baritone with the Reno Philharmonic Chorus and with the Chamber Chorale at the University of Nevada, Reno, and played tuba/sousaphone for the Carson Street Ragtime Band. I am a former musical director of Nevada Glee Club at the University of Nevada, Reno, where my journey as an arranger began.
